Catherine Locke (Ms. Cathie)

Director & Head Teacher

I’m excited to begin my 24th year in education and my first at Haddam Cooperative Nursery School!  

I live across the bridge in East Haddam with my husband and daughter. I also have a grown son and a granddaughter. I love to spend time walking my dog, visiting thrift stores and tag sales with my daughters, going out to eat with my husband and friends and reading fiction.   

I believe that children learn best through both structured and free play. I look forward to engaging your child in many hands-on activities, lots of outside time and new opportunities for social and emotional growth. 

Carrie Walden (Miss Carrie)

Assistant Teacher (MWF)

I have always worked in childcare; it’s truly my passion. I have experience in daycare/ preschool settings and public school settings, as I was previously an assistant teacher here at the co-op a few years back and most recently a special education paraprofessional for the local district.

In my free time I love to get outside with my kiddos Max (11) and Josie (8). We love a good family hike or park trip! I also enjoy snuggling with my cat Gizmo, reading, baking, trying new things and anything Winnie-the-Pooh!

Emily Kateley (Miss Emily)

Assistant Teacher (Tu & Th)

I previously worked as an Assistant Teacher at a different preschool, where I loved creating activities for the kids to do.  Along with babysitting through high school, I also worked at a local horse farm. I currently work at The Black Seal in Essex as a waitress a few nights a week. When I am not working, I love to run, travel, spend time with my family, and, most importantly, play with my 3-year-old daughter, Oaklee.

Quincy Locke

Substitute Teacher

I am currently in school pursuing Early Childhood Education. Even from a young age, I have always loved being able to care for children. I have experience being a nanny, babysitter, and assistant teacher. In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. I love putting together crafts and activities that will help kids use different motor skills in a fun environment. I look forward to getting to meet all of you and getting to grow with you in the classroom!
